Recycling / Parts Reclamation
As part of our Green commitment and in keeping with the principles of the Cell Phone Recycling Act of 2004 (passed in California), Blue Ridge Wireless has a comprehensive recycling system in place. This includes the separate collection and proper disposal of:
- Phones
- Batteries
- Chargers
- Damaged LCD modules
- Loose PCBs and components
- ALL scrap plastics (housings, lenses, etc)
We will gladly accept any phone, battery or charger dropped off or sent to us. Our goal is to keep as many cell phones and their parts out of our landfills.
It is important to remember that until recently, the soldered connections were made with lead based solder. Phones also contain zinc and arsenic, two toxic chemicals that are known to pose severe health risks.
